No need to worry, modern technology makes this process much easier than it used to be. I strongly recommend using your smart phone to record your swings and YouTube to share them. Please find details and helpful links for how to film your golf swing below.
If you have any trouble or questions, don’t hesitate to email me. I’m happy to help. A tech-savvy friend or coworker should also be able to help.
A stationary camera is very helpful.
A tripod is ideal to ensure the camera is stationary. An adapter like this can be used to attach your smart phone to a tripod. A golf bag mount like this can also be used. If those options aren’t available, find a friend with a very steady hand.
The camera angles and position matter.
For DTL(Down the line) – align the camera at approximately mid-section height, parallel to your target line, directly in-line with your hands. For FO(Face on) – also mid-section height, but this time perpendicular to your target line, in-line with your chest. Depending on the camera you are using, you will want to be about 5-7 paces from the ball for both angles.
Uploading to Youtube instructions if you are unfamiliar. Emailing me a video directly is also acceptable and often easier. Please be sure to trim the video to around 2-3 seconds before sending or uploading it.
Use these videos to help setup the camera correctly.
